After a 7 hour delay from JFK, we finally arrived on Athens. Instead of arriving Sunday at 6am (local Greece time), we got here almost at Noon!
We took a TAXI from the airport and saw a bit of what the fires did close to the airport, it’s all been put off, but damage is extensive.
(Who is “we” ? :: Everyone that met on facebook and chatted for months before actually meeting in person. This would be rather inadequate and unsafe according to NBC’s Dateline…i.e. never meet someone you met ‘on the internet’ in a private place….lol…let alone sleep in the same place within less than 12 hours of meeting them….lol)
We toured the Parthenon in the evening and then went for grocery shopping.
